Bass-baritone William Warfield dead

CHICAGO, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Film, musical theater legend and opera singer William Warfield, whose rendition of "Ol' Man River" defined the song in performances of the Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II musical "Show Boat," died Sunday of complications after a fall in his home. He was 82.
