Offshore rig blast forces 55 to evacuate

NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- The Coast Guard says an explosion rocked a 504-foot offshore drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico Friday, forcing 55 workers to evacuate in life rafts. A Coast Guard spokesman said there were no injuries or pollution reported and the fire was out on the Ocean King platform 30 miles south of Grand Isle, La.
