Granholm ahead in Mich Dem gov race

DETROIT, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- State Attorney General Jennifer Granholm Tuesday appeared to have topped former Gov. Jim Blanchard and veteran Congressman David Bonior in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. With 42 percent of the vote counted, Granholm had 47 percent of the vote to 28 percent for Bonior and 25 percent for Blanchard. Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus won the GOP nod.
