Carnahan, Talent to face each other in Nov

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Incumbent Jean Carnahan Tuesday captured the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate and former Rep. Jim Talent won the Republican nod. With more than 12 percent of the vote counted, Carnahan outdistanced her primary challenger, Darrel Day, 87 percent to 13 percent, while Talent piled up an impressive 91 percent of the vote in a five-way race.
