Kidnapped SoCal girls safe, abductor dead

LANCASTER, Calif., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Two teenage girls kidnapped from a lover's lane in the Southern California desert were found safe Thursday after police in Kern County shot their abductor to death. Jackie Massey and Tamera Brooks were apparently unhurt in the dramatic conclusion to the search.
