Deadbeat dad has vasectomy

LOUISVILLE, Ky., July 26 (UPI) -- A Louisville man underwent a vasectomy in a bid for leniency for failure to pay $1,000 in court-ordered child support. Jeffrey DeWayne Ashby, 28, pleaded guilty Thursday to failing to pay child support as part of a plea agreement in which he said he took a "proactive stance of obtaining a vasectomy" to try to secure a sentence of probation.
