Buffalo to be part of USDA program

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 2 (UPI) -- Buffalo producers joined other food producers Thursday in a meeting with Agriculture Department officials to bid for contracts as part of the federal government's $155 million surplus food commodities program. Buffalo producers want to reduce the size of the herd, which now numbers 300,000.
