High court to hear Calif. 3-strikes case

WASHINGTON, April 1 (UPI) -- The Supreme Court agreed Monday to hear argument next term on the constitutionality of California's three-strikes law. The case involves a petty thief whose third strike involved shoplifting, bringing a 25-years-to-life term.
