Simon caps surge with Calif primary win

LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- Gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon never trailed his opponents as primary ballots were counted Tuesday night. After being down by more than 30 points in some polls earlier in the campaign, Simon is now the Republican nominee for governor of California.
