Cardoza cruises to win over Gary Condit

LOS ANGELES, March 5 (UPI) -- Gary Condit appears to have lost in his bid for nomination to a seventh term in California's 18th Congressional District. Condit, who was mired in the Chandra Levy scandal, had 37.5 percent of Tuesday's vote to Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza's 55.1 percent with 69.5 percent of the vote counted.
