450,000 baseboard heaters recalled

WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Honeywell Consumer Products Inc., of Southborough, Mass., Thursday recalled 450,000 moveable baseboard heaters because the heating element can short-circuit and ignite material under the heater, posing a fire hazard. The Consumer product Safety Commission and Honeywell said they had received 53 reports of the heaters short-circuiting, including two cases that resulted in floor damage but no injuries.
