Politically connected exec charged

CHICAGO, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The head of a politically connected insurance agency has been charged in a $20 million insurance and mail fraud scheme, the U.S. attorney's office announced Monday. Michael Segal, the president and chief operating officer of Near North Insurance Brokerage Inc., was free on $750,000 signature bond on charges he embezzled insurance premiums, credits and other funds held in trust.
