Lawyers sue over Calif. clemency request

SACRAMENTO, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Lawyers are seeking to prevent Gov. Gray Davis from reviewing a clemency request from a death row inmate due to be executed this month. Lawyers for inmate Stephen Anderson filed a lawsuit calling for the lieutenant governor to handle their request, saying Davis is biased against reprieves.
