LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- In honor of Muhammad Ali's 60th birthday, Jan. 17 will be "Muhammad Ali Day" in the city, Mayor Jim Hahn told the City Council Tuesday.
After the announcement Ali joked, "All I get is the day?"

Hahn described Ali as a boxing legend and inimitable spirit and said the city was proud to "honor him for his achievements."
Ali, recently portrayed in the movie "Ali" by Will Smith, will also get a star Friday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
However, in a break with tradition, the star will be installed on the wall instead of the sidewalk at the Kodak Theatre.
