Bush touches, touts Texas roots

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- President Bush publicly re-embraced his Texas origins Friday, telling former colleagues of his "joy" to be home among friends and to remember from where he came and to where he will return. Speaking at the unveiling of his portrait in the State Capitol, he said the spirit of bipartisan cooperation during his six years as governor was something he "still believes can happen" in Washington.
