Security is tight in Times Square

NEW YORK, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Hundreds of thousands of revelers were gathered in Times Square on Monday awaiting the traditional ball drop and the arrival of the new year. Security is tight in midtown Manhattan as 7,000 police officers patrol Times Square and confiscate all alcoholic beverages.
