Calif elephant cruelty trial to begin

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Jury selection was scheduled to begin Tuesday in San Jose where the elephant trainer from Ringling Brothers Circus is charged with violating California's law against so-called elephant abuse. Mark Oliver Gebel is accused of hitting one of his pachyderms with a stick hard enough to draw blood.
