Selig puts baseball losses at $519 billion

WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Professional baseball lost about $519 billion last year, with only five clubs earning a profit and 25 losing money, baseball commissioner Allan "Bud" Selig told the House Judiciary Committee Thursday. He also said a proposal to lift baseball's anti-trust exemption would lead to more teams abandoning smaller cities for large ones.
