Repaired South Texas causeway reopened

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- The Queen Isabella Causeway, the only link between South Padre Island and the Texas mainland, was officially reopened to traffic Wednesday after a Sept. 15 accident in which eight people were killed. More than $4 million in repairs were completed a month ahead of time, allowing the Thanksgiving-eve opening.
