Nickels wins close Seattle mayoral race

SEATTLE, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Greg Nickels has claimed victory in the tightest Seattle mayoral race in decades. City Attorney Mark Sidran called the King County councilman Thursday night to concede the contest as the counting of absentee ballots neared its conclusion. Nickels will replace outgoing Mayor Paul Schell.
