Honeywell agrees to $800,000 fine

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Honeywell Consumer Products Inc. agreed Wednesday to pay an $800,000 civil penalty to resolve charges its Duracraft subsidiary failed to notify the Consumer Product Safety Commission in a timely manner about incidents involving its humidifiers, ceramic heaters and baseboard heaters. Honeywell acquired Duracraft in May 1996.
