Texas inmate pardoned after DNA test

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry Wednesday pardoned a man serving a life sentence for a 1986 rape and murder because he was cleared by DNA tests. Calvin Edward Washington was the second inmate pardoned by Perry after being cleared by DNA testing.
