STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A new app can rid photos of unwanted moving bystanders or other intrusive elements in shots, allowing users to easily edit them out, its Swedish developers say.

The app, developed by photography firm Scalado and dubbed Remove, takes a burst of shots of your scene, then identifies moving objects -- based on their relative position in each frame -- and highlights them so they can be deleted, NewScientist.com reported Tuesday.

The app, still in the prototype stage, uses similar technology found in Scalado's Rewind app, launched last year, which allowed users to merge composite group shots to create the best single image.

Scalado said it would demonstrate a full complete version at the 2012 Mobile World Conference in Barcelona later this month.
