Up and Coming Photo Sharing App Cirqle Gets An Update - Offline Mode!

Cirqle, a photo sharing app with some unique twists, has been out for nearly a year now, and recently announced the launch of version 2.0, releasing Tuesday, October 21. While the app has yet to create any large buzz around it, it offers some very unique features, and this latest update does nothing but make the app even better.

Version 2.0 has a couple changes with the main one being offline mode. What's that you're saying? "How can a photo sharing app have an offline mode?" Well, let me tell you.

The way Cirqle works is that you post pictures and moments to "cirqles." Your cirqles can literally be anything. Certain places, people, occasions, whatever you want to share with others. You can invite people to join your cirqles and see your feed, and others can join in on the fun, as well. You can set other people up to be "co-curators" meaning that they can add photos and videos to your Circle. With Offline Mode, curators are able to connect to each other via Bluetooth to continue posting to a cirqle… on Cirqle. Not only will others be able to see your updates via Bluetooth (because honestly, that number would be pretty small in most instances), but once one of the collaborators are able to get a signal, Cirqle will curate any of the posts made over Bluetooth, regardless if your device was the first to gain service or not.

I know personally that there have been quite a few times I've wanted to share or post something while on a hike, but have been unable to do due to connection errors. By the time I get back I've usually forgotten, but with this I can do it real time then know it will post when it can. Offline mode will also come in handy during large events where cell service gets bogged down due to traffic. Connect with your cirqle and share the moments while they happen, then know it will post publicly as soon as one of the curators regains signal.

It will be interesting to see how far Cirqle can go. In a world full of social apps, people are beginning to really have to pick and choose which ones they want to invest time in. Cirqle definitely offers some unique features and it is nice to see a change from the typical Facebook or Twitter cut and paste; hopefully it will continue to grow and be a true contender in social… cirqles.
