Renzo Olivo wins first-round match at Brazil Open

Renzo Olivo of Argentina advanced to the second round of the Brazil Open in Sao Paulo by eliminating Inigo Cervantes of Spain 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the first round Monday.

Olivo faced 16 break point against him but saved 12 of them to post the straight-sets win.

Olivo, who is ranked No. 92, will next play fourth-seeded Joao Sousa.

Guido Pella, also of Argentina, blasted 10 aces while beating wild-card entrant Guilherme Clezar of Brazil 6-2, 6-3.

Also, Gastao Elias of Portugal beat another wild-card entrant from Brazil, Orlando Luz, 6-2, 7-5.

Top-seeded Pablo Carreno of Spain and second-seeded Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain play their opening matches later in the week at the clay-court event, which does not feature any top-20 players.
