Alan Pulido: Mexican soccer star rescued after kidnapping

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico, May 30 (UPI) -- Mexico employed state and federal forces to rescue one of its prized soccer assets from kidnapping.

Four armed men kidnapped Alan Pulido, 25, at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. His family received a ransom call at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Mexico and Olympiakos striker was taken while returning from a party in Ciudad Victoria. According to the Sun, the masked kidnappers released Pulido's girlfriend unharmed at the scene.

The rescue occurred before midnight, on Sunday, according to reports. Before the rescue, Pulido miraculously made a call to an emergency phone number and told authorities where he was located. After finding him, police made one arrest.
