BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Arguably the best soccer player in the world enforced his will on Celta Vigo Sunday with a wicked free kick and trick penalty shot.
Barcelona's Lionel Messi masterfully placed a 30-yard free kick into the near post side netting with a left foot blast 27 minutes into the match.
Barcelona beat Celta 6-1 in the match, with Messi drawing first blood.
At the 80-minute mark, Messi thrilled fans again. After drawing a penalty kick, Messi lined up and ran toward the ball. But instead of blasting it at the keeper, he laid it off slowly to the right side, assisting Luis Suarez.
Suarez finished the game with a hat trick, while Neymar and Ivan Rakitic also scored.
Suarez is now La Liga's top goal scorer, with 23 scores in 22 games this season.
