Tapwrit wins the Belmont Stakes (7 images)

Tapwrit beat out favorite Irish War Cry to win the 149th running of the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., on June 10.

Tapwrit, ridden by Jose Ortiz, won the race in 2 minutes, 30.02 seconds. Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming and Preakness Stakes champion Cloud Computing did not compete in this year's Belmont.
