St. Louis Blues land Brayden Schenn from Philadelphia Flyers

CHICAGO -- The St. Louis Blues acquired center Brayden Schenn from the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2017 NHL draft on Friday in exchange for center Jori Lehtera, the No. 27 pick and a conditional first-round selection in 2018.

Schenn, 25, tallied 55 points (25 goals, 30 assists) in 79 games with the Flyers last season. He has scored at least 20 goals in three of his past four seasons.

Schenn does not come cheap, however, as his contract represents a $5.125 million cap hit in each of the next three seasons.

Philadelphia added Lehtera, 29, who had 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 64 games last season. The Flyers used the No. 27 pick to draft Morgan Frost, a center from Sault Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League.

The Blues pulled off their second trade of the night when they sent forward Ryan Reaves and the No. 51 pick of the second round to the Pittsburgh Penguins for center Oskar Sundqvist and the No. 31 pick. With the final pick of the first round, St. Louis chose forward Klim Kostin out of Russia.

Reaves collected seven goals, six assists and 104 penalty minutes in 80 games last season. He is expected to provide a bit of muscle to protect Sidney Crosby and others with the Penguins.

Sundqvist, 23, did not record a point in 10 games with the Blues last season.
