Nashville Predators acquire veteran F P.A. Parenteau from New Jersey Devils

The Nashville Predators acquired forward P.A. Parenteau from the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday in exchange for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2017.

Parenteau, who was claimed off waivers by the Devils on the eve of the season opener, scored 13 goals to go along with 14 assists in 59 games with New Jersey.

The 33-year-old Parenteau scored 20 goals last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, matching his career high total that he first established in 2010-11 with the New York Islanders.

Parenteau missed Monday's game due to a finger injury and is expected to sit out the next two contests for Nashville, which has won four consecutive games and sits in third place in the Central Division.

Parenteau was waived by the Islanders just before the start of the season. He has 114 goals and 295 points in 483 regular-season games with the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Islanders, Colorado Avalanche, Maple Leafs and Devils.
