Arizona Coyotes acquire C Peter Holland from Toronto Maple Leafs

The Arizona Coyotes acquired center Peter Holland from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday in exchange for a 2018 conditional draft choice.

Holland, 25, had an assist in eight games with Toronto this season and registered 70 points (30 goals, 40 assists) in 203 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs and Anaheim Ducks. The Toronto native totaled a career-high 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 65 games with the Maple Leafs in 2015-16 and scored a career-best 11 goals with Toronto in 2014-15.

"Peter is a big, solid centerman with good NHL experience," Coyotes general manager John Chayka said in a statement. "We look forward to having him join our team."

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Holland was drafted by the Ducks in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL draft.
