Estevez channels Gordon Bombay to back Ducks

By Alex Butler

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 26 (UPI) -- There were no signs of Charlie Conway or Lester Averman, but on Monday the Mighty Ducks once again flew behind coach Gordon Bombay.

Emilio Estevez, who played Bombay in the 1992 movie series, showed his allegiance to the Anaheim Ducks in its 5-4 overtime win against the Chicago Blackhawks with a series of spirited tweets.

The Ducks, who now lead the series 3-2, earned a 3-0 advantage before the Blackhawks began to rally. Estevez continued to fire off his tweet reactions as the drama progressed. Estevez also littered the tweets with references to the movie series. The tweet-spree lasted from about 8 p.m. until after midnight.

After the Western Conferene Finals game, Estevez fired some insults at the city of Chicago. The Ducks face the Blackhawks at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Chicago for Game 6.

After the Ducks scored a fourth time, to make the score 4-2, the Blackhawks roared back to tie it at 4-4, with less than two minutes left in the game.
