Terrell Owens could be eyeing NFL comeback

By Alex Butler

NEW YORK, June 13 (UPI) -- Terrell Owens says he "hasn't officially retired" from the NFL." That could spell comeback for one of the most polarizing wide receivers to ever suit up in the history of the league.

"I'm not gonna say it's full game, but I could give you at least 75 percent of the game," Owens said on the Rich Eisen show. "I haven't officially retired," he continued. "Given the right opportunity, I know I could still play."

Owens, 41, caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns in 2010 for the Cincinnati Bengals.

"I know I'm one of those guys that could really defy the odds," Owens told Eisen. "I'm not your average 41-year-old."

Owens looked burly, sporting a polka dot sleeveless sweater vest while appearing on the show.

Owens played in two preseason games with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012, but did not make the roster. In 15 NFL seasons, Owens grabbed 1,078 receptions for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns. He also made the Pro Bowl six times.
