Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott leaves game briefly with hand injury

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott left Thursday's game against the Washington Redskins midway through the second quarter with an injury to his right hand.

He later returned to lead a Cowboys drive before halftime.

Prescott was taken to the locker room to have his hand X-rayed a few minutes after completing a 6-yard pass to wide receiver Dez Bryant on third-and-goal from the Washington 12. Dallas kicker Dan Bailey kicked a 24-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead with 5:33 left before halftime.

Earlier in the second quarter, Prescott threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jason Witten to put the Cowboys ahead 7-0 with 10:43 left in the second quarter.

Prescott had completed 5 of 10 passes for 28 yards and rushed for 17 yards before the injury.
