July 30 (UPI) -- Veteran safety Glover Quin has agreed to a contract extension with the Detroit Lions.

The franchise announced the pact on Sunday. Quin, 31, made the Pro Bowl in 2014. He had 68 tackles, five passes defended, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 16 games last season for the Lions. Quin hasn't missed a start since his rookie season in 2009.

He joined the Lions in 2013. Quin was a fourth round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2009 NFL Draft. Quin led the league with seven interceptions in 2014.

Quin's extension is for two years and worth $13 million, according to NFL Network. The contract has $9.5 million in guarantees.

"Glover is one of our team leaders, and throughout his career has been a consummate professional on and off the field," Lions Executive Vice President and General Manager Bob Quinn said in a team statement. "We are thrilled that he will be a Lion for the next three seasons."

"I also want to thank Glover and his representatives for their work in making this contract extension a reality."

Quin's 116 consecutive regular season starts are more than any other active safety.

Detroit also announced Sunday that tackle Greg Robinson and defensive end Cornelius Washington were removed from the active/non-football injury list and returned to practice Sunday.

On Saturday the Lions announced that tackle Cyrus Kouandjio and cornerback Teez Tabor were removed from the active/non-football injury list and returned to practice.

The team also placed defensive end Ezekiel Ansah and guard Brandon Thomas were placed on the active/physically unable to perform list.

"Oh, man - it's a complete 180 from the first day I got here until now," Quin told the Lions team website Saturday. "The culture around the team, the attitude around the team, the vibe around the team - totally different. Guys are totally different. Put it like that."

"We've got a great group, and it starts at the top. Everything feels so different from when I first got here. They've done a lot of things around the building, with making it high, high class. Just top notch, from facilities to the practice field to everything we do."

The Lions faced an NFC low 964 scrimmage plays last season and ranked 15th in yards allowed.
