Dallas Cowboys defensive end David Irving is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL performance-enhancing drug policy.

According to multiple reports, Irving informed the league he would appeal and believes there is "evidence" that will clear him.

Irving had four sacks and led the Cowboys with 26 quarterback pressures in 2016.

Dallas signed Irving in 2015 off the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad. He signed a one-year deal as an exclusive rights free agent in 2017 and can become a restricted free agent at the end of the upcoming season.

Defensive ends facing suspension has been all too common in Dallas.

Randy Gregory is suspended for the entire 2017 season for his latest drug-related violation. Demarcus Lawrence and Gregory were suspended to start the 2016 season.
