May 11 (UPI) -- Jetpacks, quads and a catamaran were just a few of the fun things making a cameo in Cam Newton's birthday music video Wednesday on social media.

Newton, who turned 28 Thursday, performed a rap over Birthday Song by 2Chainz.

The Panthers' star player opens the video exiting an SUV and wearing a faded Dwyane Wade Miami Heat jersey. An overhead shot follows, showing the mansion that Newton and his friends are staying in.

Newton proceeds to do backflips off of a giant yacht as he says "check me out, I'm in Costa Rica."

He dances around in a white robe and sunglasses, donning his unforgettable wide smile.

"I think God for this day," Newton wrote on Instagram. "Live x Love x Pray (repeat)." He also says 27 was a major step for 28 in a hashtag. All of the words are in Newton's typical social media language.

Newton was the 2015 NFL MVP. After leading the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2016, he paced the squad to a 6-8 record as a starter last season. During his MVP campaign, Newton tossed 35 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. He threw 19 scores against 14 picks in 15 games last season.

On Feb. 3, Newton's longtime girlfriend Kia Proctor birthed the couple's second child, Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton. The baby girl's older brother Chosen Sebastian was born on Dec. 24, 2015.

Newton had offseason surgery on the partially torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder.
