April 30 (UPI) -- New Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson wasted no time in showing gratitude to his mother after being picked in the 2017 NFL Draft.

His first order of business: buying Deann Watson a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace 35T.

"Happy Birthday Mama! I love you and you deserve your first official car! Enjoy it. Had to cop her the 2017 Jaguar! Blessings from above! You my rock and my inspiration," Watson wrote in an Instagram caption.

The Texans traded up for the No. 12 overall selection in Thursday's first round in order to snatch the former Clemson star.

Watson's gift is his mother's first official car, according to the quarterback. Deann lost her tongue through a battle with cancer when Watson was in high school.

"My mom, she's my rock," Deshaun told ABC 13 Friday. "She's the one that raised me. Single-parent mom of four kids and the struggles that we went through, it was tough. My whole family plays a big part of my support cast, and it's just been awesome to have them in my life."

Watson also read a letter from his mother, while tearing up, after getting drafted.

"Deshaun, when you came into this world, you brought a love to my heart that I had never appreciated," the letter from Deann said. "I watched you play your first flag football game all the way to the last college game. To be here at the NFL Draft and see you walk across the stage is a dream come true. I'm so proud of you. I'm so proud of the person and the man you became. Making it to the NFL is an accomplishment that you made happen come true. That being said, so much joy to my heart. I wish you love, happiness and long time success. As I look back, we was not supposed to be here. In the words of Drake: 'We made it.'"

"Love, Mom."

"Love you momma. We made it," Watson said after reading the letter.

Watson, 21, is likley to sign a four-year rookie deal for between $10 million and $26 million.
