April 26 (UPI) -- Right guard Jahri Evans is leaving the New Orleans Saints after 11 seasons to join the Green Bay Packers.

The four-time All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowl selection joined the Packers Wednesday. Green Bay was in need of some experience on its offensive line after losing T.J. Lang this offseason in free agency to the Detroit Lions.

Evans, 34, started all 16 games in 2016. He had 169 career starts for the Saints.

"The stadium, the bleacher seating, how close proximity the houses are to the stadium – it speaks volumes," Evans told the Packers' website. "It's a community-based team and the fans are entrenched in the organization. It's going to be fun to be a part of."

"I'm eager to meet my teammates and get to work," Evans said. "I'm very excited to have an opportunity to compete for a championship and sign with an historic franchise that has so much history and has done so much. I'm just looking forward to being a champion again."

Evans was also a member of the 2010 Saints Super Bowl squad. He started all 16 games in 9 of his 11 NFL seasons.
