The Baltimore Ravens and Brandon Williams agreed in principle Thursday on a five-year contract worth $54 million -- including an eye-popping $27 million in guaranteed money -- that makes him the highest-paid nose tackle in the NFL.

Multiple teams, including the Tennessee Titans, were reportedly interested in the 6-foot-1, 340-pound Williams before he decided to stay.

Williams, a four-year veteran out of Missouri Southern State, was selected in the third round of the 2013 draft by Baltimore. He had 158 tackles (97 solo), 4 1/2 sacks, three passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 55 games (46 starts) with the Ravens.

Williams was a second alternate for the Pro Bowl last season after recording the third-most tackles (51) and second-most solo stops (34) among NFL nose tackles. He was part of a Ravens defense that finished fifth against the rush, allowing 89.4 yards per game.
