Ohio State's Malik Hooker told NFL Combine doctors not to pull legs

March 6 (UPI) -- Ease up on the moneymakers.

Former Ohio State Buckeyes safety Malik Hooker was thinking that recently at the NFL Scouting Combine. The projected first round talent had hip surgery in January and dual sports hernia surgeries.

During one of his medical checks in Indianapolis, Hooker had to tell doctors not to pull on his legs.

"My medical checks are going real well," Hooker told Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "I was told not to let anybody pull or tug at my leg just because the surgery was recent — six weeks out and a few days — they more so looking at my upper body."

Hooker suffered the injury on Nov. 26 against Michigan. He had seven interceptions for the Buckeyes, with three resulting in touchdown returns. He also had 74 tackles and four passes defended in his sophomore season. Hooker appeared in 19 games in his Ohio State career.

The prospect measured in at the combine at 6-foot, 1-inch and 206 pounds. He has 10 ¾ inch hands, 33 ¼ inch arms, and a 77 ¾ inch wingspan.

Some NFL mock drafts have Hooker being selected as high as the No. 2 overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers, while most have him in the top-10.
