K'Waun Williams is joining the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday. Williams, a 25-year-old cornerback, spent his first two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He recorded 69 tackles, 10 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a pair of sacks in 26 games.

He is expected to compete with Will Redmond, Keith Reaser and restricted free agent Chris Davis for the 49ers' nickel job.
Williams also had interest from the New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings, ESPN reports.
The former Pittsburgh standout joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and was waived on Aug. 29, 2016, after being suspended and fined for saying his ankle was too sore to play in a preseason game.
He was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Bears on Aug. 30 and was waived two days later after a physical revealed Williams needed surgery to remove bone spurs in his ankle.
Williams did not play in 2016 because of the ankle injury. He filed a grievance against the Browns seeking his entire $600,000 base salary for the 2016 season and the cost of his ankle surgery.
