Feb. 21 (UPI) -- With a Pro Bowl quarterback already on its roster, it is unlikely that the Arizona Cardinals would go after Jay Cutler.

But MMQB's Peter King shocked fans and Cardinals followers when he said he wouldn't be "shocked" if Cutler ended up playing for Bruce Arians in 2017.

AZCentral Sports' Kent Somers has decimated that possibility, saying the Cardinals have "zero interest" in the Chicago Bears quarterback.

Cutler, 33, is due $12.5 million, with a $2.5 million roster bonus next season. He is signed through 2020. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported earlier this month that the Bears will be "moving on" from Cutler. He has several other options for 2017 that would include a starting job, unlike in Arizona, where he would be playing behind Carson Palmer for at least one season.

The New York Jets have also been linked to Cutler, as he has history with wide receiver Brandon Marshall and quarterback coach Jeremy Bates. Cutler is part of a growing group of adequate free agent gunslingers this offseason.

He was in and out of the Bears' lineup last season, completing 81-of-137 passes for 1,059 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has lost his starting job multiple times over the last few years, including last season to Brian Hoyer.
