Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Despite Carson Palmer deciding to return next season, the Arizona Cardinals could be looking to add quarterback Jay Cutler.

MMQB's Peter King wrote Monday that he "wouldn't be shocked" if the Chicago Bears gunslinger ended up with the Cardinals. The 33-year-old is due $12.5 million, with a $2.5 million roster bonus, in 2017. He is signed through 2020 on a seven-year, $126.7 million deal.

"I think I just made a Bruce Arians-Jay Cutler marriage—and Arizona can wait until the Bears cut him and sign Cutler for two years and incentives," King wrote.

Cutler completed 81-of-137 passes for 1,059 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions in five starts last season. In 2015, Cutler completed 311-of-483 passes for 3,659 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Cutler made the Pro Bowl in 2008 while passing for 4,526 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions with the Denver Broncos.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that the Bears were "moving on" from Cutler earlier this month. The 11-year veteran is more likely to be released than traded at this point. He has also been linked to the New York Jets.

Palmer, 37, is due $15.5 million next season and is signed through 2018. But his tenure with the Cardinals is nearing its end after he took 40 sacks and had a significant regression last season.
