Watch: John Elway pranks cab driver after asking about best NFL quarterbacks

By Alex Butler

Jan. 24 (UPI) -- One Pittsburgh Steelers fan has mad respect for John Elway.

Sam Snow was driving his taxi around Washington when he picked up five passengers. After the passengers filed in, Glenn Stearns asked Snow who the best quarterbacks were in NFL history, to make conversation during the ride.

"Elway is No. 1," Snow said.

"Guys would go to bed with him. I don't roll like that," Snow added.

"He's a great quarterback," Snow said. "Second pick would be, I hate to say it. It would hurt me to say it. I'm not saying it as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but I'd have to put Tom Brady in there. Then I would have to put Ben Roethlisberger in there."

"Would you know John Elway if you saw him," the passengers asked Snow.

Snow, who was sporting a Steelers jacket and Pittsburgh Pirates hat, then turned around, shocked to see the legendary quarterback riding in his car. Elway was wearing sunglasses and a dark jacket.

"How you doing man," Elway asked Snow.

"Oh come on man, are you serious? Come on man, John Elway," Snow said. "When we get out, can we take a picture together man?"

Snow later jabbed Elway about beating his Steelers in the 1998 AFC Championship Game. The duo then took several pictures before Elway departed with Stearns and his other friends. The encounter happened on Friday, when Elway and his pals were in the capital for the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Stearns posted several pictures from the weekend, featuring Elway.

Elway, now the vice president of football operations and general manager of the Denver Broncos, won an MVP and two Super Bowls during his Hall of Fame career. The nine-time Pro Bowl selection had 300 touchdowns and 51,475 yards in 16 seasons, all for the Broncos.
