Raw Video: Cincinnati Bengals' Adam Jones verbally assaults police officer during arrest

A video released by Cincinnati police on Monday night shows Bengals cornerback Adam Jones verbally assaulting a police officer during his Jan. 3 arrest for multiple charges including assault and disorderly conduct.

In a profanity-laced tirade, the video shows Jones saying "I hope you die tomorrow" and "you're gonna be out of a job tomorrow" to his arresting officer while in the back of a police car.

Jones also appeared to spit on the floor of the car and told the officer he would "spit on your (expletive) if I could."

Jones, 33, was arrested at a Cincinnati hotel after allegedly pushing a security guard and poking him in the eye before failing to comply with law enforcement officials. Jones allegedly kicked and head-butted his arresting officer and spit on a nurse at the county jail.

He was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business and harassment with a bodily substance. Jones was released from the Hamilton Country Jail on bond on the morning of Jan. 4.

Jones issued an apology for the incident through his attorneys.

"Adam Jones is deeply embarrassed and remorseful for his conduct and language after being arrested in early January," the statement read, via ESPN.com. "Mr. Jones has the utmost respect for law enforcement and the difficulties police encounter on a daily basis.

"Adam loves Cincinnati and considers it home. He sincerely apologizes to the officers, the Cincinnati Bengals organization and all the fans in Cincinnati."

The Bengals also released their own statement on Jones' behavior.

"We are extremely disappointed with Adam's behavior," the Bengals' statement read, via ESPN.com. "The behavior in the video is not what we expect from our players. The Club is aware that Adam has put forth his own apology, however, we also offer an apology to the public and to our loyal fans."

A grand jury hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10 and Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters said he is awaiting an NFL response before moving ahead with the case.

A 10-year veteran and one-time Pro Bowler, Jones totaled 66 tackles, one interceptions, seven passes defensed and one forced fumble over 16 games in the 2016 season.
