Buffalo Bills receiver Sammy Watkins recently underwent surgery on his left foot, the team announced Friday.

The Bills also said that defensive end Shaq Lawson underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.

The foot surgery is the second for Watkins. He underwent the first procedure in April but experienced issues after playing in two regular-season games and was placed on injured reserve. He returned to play in the final six games.

Watkins, the fourth overall pick in the 2014 draft, caught 28 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns last season. He caught 60 or more passes in each of his two NFL seasons and established career bests of 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns in 2015.

Lawson was Buffalo's first-round pick in 2016. He missed the first six games due to shoulder surgery and had 13 tackles and two sacks in 10 games.
