Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison would not likely play on Sunday if this were a regular-season game.

But head coach Mike McCarthy is holding out hope for all three to take the field for the NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons.

"In the regular-season mind-set, none of them would play," McCarthy said. "But, obviously, this is a different time, this is a different point where we are in the season. Everybody understands where we are here."

Nelson sat out last week in Dallas with broken ribs and breathing, not to mention cardiovascular activity or full-contact football, has been challenging.

Adams had his ankle twisted beneath him when he was tackled on a 16-yard gain late in the fourth quarter of last week's game against the Cowboys, though he returned to the game for the final drive with a hobble.

Allison, an undrafted rookie from Illinois emerging as a trusted target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, has an injured hamstring.

McCarthy said he will not know whether the offense will have any or all of the trio until Saturday.

"Don't really have enough information right now," McCarthy said. "Obviously, Davante's injury happened Sunday, so did Geronimo's. We want to give them the whole week just because of the timing of it. I'm not really concerned (Thursday afternoon) because you have to put the plan in. I'm not sure how we're going to line up or who's going to line up. We'll hopefully have a better gauge if we think these guys are going to make it. I don't think we'll really know until Saturday."

In Thursday's practice, Jeff Janis, Randall Cobb and rookie Trevor Davis lined up at wide receiver. Janis and Davis played significant snaps in Week 8 against the Falcons because of injuries, when Janis had four receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Rodgers said the Packers are not distracted by the uncertainty of the wide receiver depth chart. If necessary, Ty Montgomery could play more wide receiver. Montgomery moved to running back after injuries to Eddie Lacy and James Starks.

"We've won without them before," Rodgers said.
