LOS ANGELES -- The season ended just as it began for the Los Angeles Rams with another lopsided defeat.

Four second-half touchdowns by the Arizona Cardinals turned a 10-point halftime advantage into a 44-6 romp over the Rams on Sunday at the Memorial Coliseum. It was the Rams' seventh consecutive loss and their 11th in their last 12 games.

After being hammered 28-0 in the season opener by the San Francisco 49ers, the Rams won three in a row and the locals were already talking playoffs. They were 3-1 after beating the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 18 and leading the division.

Then the bottom fell out, which later included the firing of coach Jeff Fisher. The players are still searching for answers.

"We just kind of lost, I guess you could say, our mojo," said linebacker Alec Ogletree, who was one of the team's bright spots for much of the season. "I felt like we kept trying to play each week -- I wouldn't say we lost our mojo, I think it's just more so we didn't learn how to finish games.

"We played a lot of close games and we didn't finish a lot of them. But that's the biggest thing, just not finishing."

A lack of offense didn't help matters either. Against the Cardinals, the Rams (4-12) were held to 122 yards of total offense while giving up 344. The Rams ranked last in several offensive categories this season.

"It's been a rough season," Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson said.

That might be an understatement.

"No matter what, everybody's sad," said running back Todd Gurley, who had another lackluster game with 40 yards on 14 carries. Gurley also four catches for 47 yards.

"We knew things weren't going our way. We just stuck together. It wasn't an 'Aw, man, offense, you need to do this. Defense, you need to do that.' Obviously, we know what we neeed to do. But we just stuck together as a family, and that's what we break it down on.

"At the end of the day, we might not have the season we wanted, but I love every single one of these guys in here, and they bring it every week."
