EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- All-Pro center Nick Mangold is officially done for the season after the New York Jets put him on injured reserve Thursday.

Mangold, 32, returned from an ankle injury to partake in practice last week and the Jets' Monday Night Football loss to the Indianapolis Colts, before suffering a setback. He visited foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson Thursday.

Jets coach Todd Bowles said Thursday that Mangold's injury could require surgery. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection has played in just eight games this season for the grounded Jets. Mangold has one year remaining on his eight-year, $57.4 million contract. He is due $6.075 million next season with a $2.4 million roster bonus.
